Cartoonist and Illustrator
I am a Nordic-based (currently living in Helsinki)
Iranian artist.
I enjoy storytelling with images and illustrating
feelings and emotions. I grew up in Iran seeing
many strong women fighting for their rights, justice, and equality. My cartoons and editorials are about social and emotional issues and human rights, with a focus on women.
My practice embraces visual arts, illustration,
graphics, cartoons & and picture books. I have worked on projects ranging from editorial illustrations as well as award-winning cartoons.
My works have been included in over 20 books and
a wide variety of art catalogs.
During my master's studies at the University of Oslo, I
was exploring visual aspects of Henrik Ibsen's
dramas, focusing on female characters and picturing them.
In 2018 together with 5 other women, we founded
Beyond Art Oslo; Ultimately Beyond Art's mission is
through art, to create a better world.
I moved to Helsinki from Norway in December 2021
and recently I’ve started working at Myymälä2 a cooperative of artists running a gallery and event space in the centre of Helsinki since 2002.
